Chinese booming star Dong Fangzhuo started for the Premiership champion Manchester United for the first time in the season in a Red Devil's 0-0 tie with Chelsea on Wednesday.

Up-front Dong Fangzhuo made his first appearance in the England's top football league after a season-long reserved team experience and most of the United's start lineup sat on bench for rest.

Diligent Dong showed his strength just three minutes into the game as he burst into Chelsea's box after intercepting a Michael Essien's pass. But his attempt was shut down by Jon Mikel.

He also missed an opportunity in the 15th minute when he headed the ball in close range ahead of Chelsea captain John Terry. But the shot was wide.

The Chinese boy's performance ended in the 70th minute as he was substituted by Wayne Rooney.

The United secured the season’s champion after beating cross-city rival Manchester City 1-0 last Saturday while Jose Mourinho's side tied 1-1 with Arsenal to left the United seven points ahead with two games to play.

The next Man United-Chelsea clash will happen on May 19 in the FA Cup final.
